Before you install

Minimum requirements

Runs on commodity x86 hardware — the same Atom/N-series/Core-class boards NTPSense targets across the board.

Network interfaces

At least 2 wired Ethernet ports — one LAN, one WAN. Bare metal or VM (VMware, Proxmox, VirtualBox all tested).

Memory

4GB RAM for the base gateway. Add more if you'll run Suricata IDS or Squid proxy alongside it.

20GB

Disk space

20GB+ recommended. The installer uses the entire disk — back up anything on it first.

Getting it running

Installation is fully automated

No prompts, no manual partitioning — write the ISO, boot it, and it configures itself.

Write the ISO to a USB drive

Use dd on Linux/macOS, or Rufus/balenaEtcher on Windows. Any 2GB+ USB drive works.

Boot from the USB drive

The installer partitions the disk and configures the base system with zero prompts — just wait.

Log in and change the default password

Connect a device to the LAN port, open https://10.252.1.100/, and sign in with admin / admin.
